 Trade fair report 

 

A few days ago we had a trade fair at the university. Before this, I had no idea what a trade fair even was. At the trade fair we got to listen to fellow students’ pitches and check out their prototypes, and also of course gave our own pitch and showed our prototype. I feel like we were pretty well prepared, and had a well structured pitch for our app called Deadlines. I think the trade fair was overall a very useful and fun experience.  

 

At the trade fair the visitors at the stands were given an opportunity to give the group that was presenting some feedback. In this post I would like to analyze the feedback we received a little bit. The feedback we received was pretty much all positive. Our pitch was mostly rated as very effective, and clarity and presenting of the pitch were mostly rated as extremely succesful. So based on this feedback, I think we could say our pitch was a success. However, only about half of our visitors would recommend our product for a colleague or a friend. I think based on this information, we could perhaps improve our product somehow, so that everyone would recommend it to their friends. There is a small problem however with improving our product, since we did not really get any information about what to improve, nor any reasons why some of our visitors would not recommend it to their friends. All the comments we got on our product were positive, and one of the comments stated that focusing on a single problem is a good thing. I was glad to hear this, since we really focused on making the product as effective as possible, and tried not to make the product too complicated. 

 

The amount of positive feedback really was a pleasant surprise for me. I think based on all the feedback we can be happy with our product, but there is always room for improvement. Next we would probably make working prototype of our product, and give it to some customers for testing. One of the other groups already had a working prototype, and I thought it was brilliant. This trade fair will surely prove to be a useful experience to have in the future.
